Kay Brothers have received another set of stunning reviews for our wines in the WBM Magazine Nov-Dec 2018.
Tyson Stelzer’s and Mike Bennie’s tasting notes pay great respect to the meticulous work in our vineyard and winery:
96 Points 2017 Griffon’s Key Grenache
“One of Australia’s most sophisticated Grenaches achieves even accord between exacting varietal definition” - Tyson Stelzer
94 Points 2017 Basket Pressed Grenache
“A superb expression of Grenache that shows righteously how complex, interesting and delicious the variety can be” - Mike Bennie
93 Points 2017 Nero d’Avola
“Kay Brothers rarely put a foot wrong” - Mike Bennie
93 Points 2016 Cuthbert Cabernet
“This is a powerfully structured vintage for Kays” - Tyson Stelzer
92 Points 2017 Basket Pressed Merlot
“This wine stopped me in my tracks. I never expected McLaren Vale Merlot to attain such fruit precision” - Tyson Stelzer
“Savoury, textural, dry and pale are the themes of Kay’s Rosé, in understated and sophisticated style” - Tyson Stelzer
In addition, Tyson Stelzer presented the 2017 Griffon’s Key Grenache at E’cco in Brisbane during a private function, saying to us afterwards that “it showed magnificently! I presented it alongside Vieux Telegraphe, no less! The room overwhelmingly favoured it to the Vieux Telegraphe and ranked it among the top wines of the night.”
All of these wines and vintages are currently available online or in our cellar door for purchase.
