$15.00

2006 AMERY GRENACHE
Colour: Bright Ruby
Nose: A perfumed bouquet of sweet cherries, rich bramble berry and fresh raspberries.
Palate: Medium bodied with fresh berry fruit characters, soft clean tannins and finishing with lingering fruit flavours. Ready for immediate drinking but will continue to mature in the bottle for another 2 – 3 years.
Bottled under Stelvin caps on the 30th July 2007. 15.5% Alc/vol.

Rated 93 points by Tyson Stelzer in the December 2007 Issue of WBM100 – “This is textbook McLaren Vale Grenache with all the trickery that we’ve come to expect from Kays – but at half the price that it’s really worth. The level of spicy complexity and intoxicating richness packed into this wine leave most of its contenders for dead.”

Reviewed by Matthew Jukes and Tyson Stelzer in the 2008 Issue of Taste Food & Wine – “The Kay brothers are responsible for one of the most sought-after cult wines made in this country (Block 6 Shiraz) and it is nothing short of a joke that you can line up for a share of the trickery for just $15/bottle. This is senior, senior Grenache. If you calculated what it was really worth compared to everything else, you could drive your car to McLaren Vale from anywhere in Aus, fill your boot and still end up ahead. Or you could just get on their mailing list and order a pallet.”
