This is the first wine in our stable crafted entirely by Duncan Kennedy and the intensity and complexity is superb. To reflect the change we also dressed up the packaging to signal the transformation. It was bottled on 19th of August, and returning from the bottling that day we looked at it with our team. Being excited by the outcome, we decided to showcase it to the McLaren Vale Cellar Door gathering hosted at Kays that evening. The feedback from participants was tremendous.
Harvested on the 2nd of February 2015, the grapes were crushed, destemmed and then passed through our 1928 basket press. The juice was then fermented at cool temperatures to maximise freshness and retain delicate flavours. A small portion was barrel fermented and aged on lees for 3 months to enhance texture and complexity.
Colour: Pale straw.
Nose: A mix of floral and citrus notes; rose petals, honey-suckle, lime and orange peel.
